In this lesson, we take a look at some of the amazing things the internet is capable of doing.
Search for information online
With billions of websites online today, there is a lot of information you can get online. Gone are the days you will need to ask someone about a pharmacy near your location or the nearest petrol station or restaurant. Search engines make this information easier to find. All that is required of you is to type the keyword in a search engine and the internet will provide you with the most relevant results.
For example, let’s say you’re looking for the nearest restaurant near you. You could use a search engine to learn about different restaurant options, and even get directions. The image above illustrates it all. All you need is to be connected to the internet.

Education
Online learning is education that takes place over the Internet. It is often referred to as “e- learning” among other terms. However, online learning is just one type of “distance learning” – the umbrella term for any learning that takes place across distance and not in a traditional classroom. Online education has become a normal routine today, with millions of individuals studying from millions of online education platforms around the world. Most of these people earn certificates, skills, and get employed and work remotely, without ever meeting their employers physically. Online collaboration
Online collaboration has become one of the recent online trends. Companies, businesses and individuals now have the possibility to share work documents online, which permit multiple users to work on a single document, even simultaneously. Google docs and Microsoft OneDrive are some examples.
Other Services
Besides the few listed above, there are a bunch of other services you can execute online. Banking services, medical consultation, booking flights and hotels, visiting museums around the world, playing games, etc, are just a few other examples.
